The Queen

How can I even start to explain my emotions. An overwhelming year with a lot of emotions, hardwork, good or bad news, exprenices I’ve earned. It’s feels like it was a fuzzy dream and none of them actually never happend. It’s been two years. Since I met fashion.

I must say that I don’t clearly remember what happend, I remember the before and after but I don’t remember the blackout times, how I choose it. I can say that I just blacked out and started to draw.

I’m starting from the beginning like very, very beginning.-

High school years are very funny years actually. You go into a building with blank heads, as childeren. You became a person that you can’t even recognize and the building has nothing to do with it.

You can say that whatever happens to you in High School can change your life for- forever. What happend to me when I was in High School?

-Lady GaGa happend. This article is not about GaGa, so I’m not gonna bore you with her, just fort his time but she has a great effect on why I chose this path.

When I say Lady GaGa I’m not talking about the women you know, the pop musician whom wears a lot of crazy costumes. I’m talking about the women who you don’t care about, the emotional, tiny woman which I see as the most intelligent woman I’ve ever known the name of.

I can’t say how I started fashion designing. I really don’t know. I remember that I was becoming a fan of her, and I remember strating drawing crazy costumes. Like real, crazy costumes.

While I was drawing; nonsense. Something terrible happend, really terrible for other people and I’ve reborn.

Alexander McQueen found dead on his apartment.

Call me crazy, yes, you can call me crazy. But there’s a thing called soul. When a soul dies, if the soul is powerful enough, it explodes.

When he died I felt like, his soul exploded and a little ray of light, a spark, came into me. Inspiration.

Only he can imagine what was in the store if he was alive. He’s dead now. We will not see his artwork anywhere. This is not devastating. His statment was enough for the world to see. I believe that there will be a lot of young people who will inspire by his statement.

His statement was dramatic. Being who you are, wearing whatever you want. No matter how hard and itchy the fabric was or how high your heel was didn’t mattered for him since your personality is comfortable in the clothes. It’s about feeling confident and comfortable even the fashion is not comfortable at all.

This is what fashion is all about.

Alexander McQueen, I don’t have the slightest information about his personality. I’ve never listened him talking to this date but I feel like I already know him. His work, his signature is so sharp that you can see how he feels like when you look at the work.

His inspration will never end of me. I will not give up since I pay back for what he did for me or the world. His sould will never die, I will work hard as I can to interrupt this to happen.

He was not a fashion designer, he was an artist. Nobody can think the opposite.

He will be always remembered as a great inspiration for fashion world.

He will keep on dreaming whatever he’s alive or he’s dead. He was a dreamer.

He was different.

He was born this way.

REST IN PEACE

Istanbul Fashion Week: The Analysis

As a newcomer in fashion world, I wasn't into daily fashion, until today. Turkish fashion was not in my sight (except Hussein Chalayan, Well, he was always been an exception), but I can say that this years Istanbul Fashion Week excited and inspired me.
If you don't know, Istanbul Fashion Week was at ITU last year (where I want to go), but this time it happened at SantralIstanbul near Istanbul Bilgi University (where my friends go). The atmosphere was good. Buildings were very, very industrial (which I adore so much).
Organization wasn't enough if you'd ask me. VOGUE stand could be bigger. Well it's a shame that VOGUE stand wasn't bigger than Coca-Cola's. Getting to runway was a
pain, they could make it easier the transportation to the main
stage, it was painful getting to runway. Well, fashion is pain as VV Brownsays. Runway was wider than last year. I loved the sound system,
there's no better way than enjoying fashion with blasting bass sound.

Attendance was fine. There were a lot of similar faces around. I loved Cinderella Under the Umberella's look. I wanted to meet @bayanmor because she seemed like a very nice person, but it was too crowded to chat so I'm gonna postpone that. Fashion was very high out of runway too. It was like the crowd had their own kind of runway also. J'adore fashion so we're cool with that.

I've only got to see two shows. One hybrid (Jale Hürdoğan + Aslı Güler) and Özgür Masur.
Aslı Güler, came out with a collection called "Anything Goes". Which is very childish desings inspired by the '70's. I really
enjoyed it. It didn't ment to change the world or inspire young designers. It was enjoyable I can say. (There's an example at the side but go check out the full collection)

I can't say the same about Jale Hürdoğan. She came out with a collection called "I love Chaos /Neitzsche knows better" I don't know what kind of Chaos she likes but I don't like that one. I think she ment a bull-fight kind of chaos because the models didn't look anything different than bullfighters. I'm not type of person who dislikes a lot of things but her show was something I didn't tried to hate but I did anyways. I don't know what she took when she designed those pieces but it was sure something Mexican.

Özgür Masur. Well if you're into fashion I can say that you will hear this name for a long time. He was explosive. It was like Alexander McQueen meets Istanbul and becomes a little well-behaved. I highly recommend you to check out the whole collection.
Runway started with a little intro with these words.
"From the beginning of life, women, wanted to give the attention to it's power in their souls that it deserved. Conditions were easy nor hard with all the power they have between future and the past. This is woman's after past and before future.
Today."
I loved the intro so much. Than there were stains on his face and the show began. The pieces was like a summary of what was trending in Paris this year. There were a lot of laces and leather (also a lot of fringes). Check out the collection it's really deserves to look at. And it inspired me successfully as a young designer. This is how a fashion show should be like. My friends who saw more runways than me agreed that this is one of the best shows of the week.

Here are some of my favorites.

I was so happy that I got to see that show It was really worth my time.
So after the show I met with my long-distant friend beloved @Marshata. Marshata is one of the kindest person I've ever met. I already believe that we're gonna see his face at a lot of places. He's really hardworking. So he introduced me some people and some places. He really gave me a state of mind about inspiration and fashion which I will not forget for a while.
This is my journey to the Istanbul Fashion Week for the first time. It was a really great experience, I wish that I knew more about the week before I go there, but next year, I'm gonna blow the place ;).
P.S.: Thanks for Füsun Saka for finding me those invitations. She's god!

TR
Cinderella Under The Umberella'nın görünüşüne bayıldım.
Not: Bana davetiyeleri bulan Füsun Sakaya çok teşekkür ediyorum. Kendisi bir tanrıçadır!
